As a precursor for ceramic matrix composites, organopolyborosilazane enables the production of lightweight and high-strength ceramic matrix composites through processes such as impregnation, curing, and high-temperature pyrolysis. These materials combine the high-temperature resistance of ceramics with the toughness of composites, and are widely used in high-temperature components such as aerospace engine blades and combustion chambers, capable of withstanding extreme temperature environments (above 1000°C).
For example, when combined with reinforcing materials like carbon fibers and silicon carbide fibers, ablation-resistant and thermal shock-resistant composites can be prepared, meeting the stringent requirements of spacecraft re-entry into the atmosphere or rocket engines.
