Applications of Phenylhydrosiloxane Resin in Optical Materials
Phenylhydrosiloxane resin allows for the adjustment of the silicone resin's optical refractive index due to the introduction of phenyl groups (the refractive index of phenyl groups is higher than that of methyl groups, and the refractive index can be regulated between 1.45 and 1.55 by adjusting the content of phenyl groups). Additionally, it boasts good light transmittance and resistance to yellowing. Therefore, it is used in the optical field for:
Optical lens anti-reflective coatings or protective films: enhancing the weather resistance and wear resistance of lenses;
Optical fiber coatings: matching the refractive index of optical fibers to reduce light loss;
LED encapsulation materials: improving light transmittance and high-temperature resistance, and extending the service life of LEDs.
