Domestic production capacity for high-end polyether silicone oil continues to be released, and green modified products are opening up opportunities for overseas exports

(September 1, 2026) The domestic deep processing sector of organic silicon has made new progress, with several silicon material companies completing the upgrade and transformation of their low-ring polyether silicone oil continuous production lines, achieving stable mass production and delivery of high-end specification products, further accelerating the import substitution process in the polyether silicone oil sector.
Polyether silicone oil combines inorganic silicon temperature resistance, low surface tension, and hydrophilic compatibility with polyether. It is widely used as a coating leveling agent, daily chemical emulsifier, agricultural silicone additive, and industrial wetting dispersant, making it an important functional additive raw material in the fine chemicals field. Currently, the industry shows ample capacity for ordinary grades, high-end low-ring products, and tight supply of bio-modified specifications. Downstream sectors such as water-based coatings, beauty export, new energy materials, and efficient agriculture continue to see rising demand for compliant and environmentally friendly polyether silicone oil.
According to industry research data, the global polyether silicone oil market maintains a compound annual growth rate of about 6.5%, with the Asia-Pacific region as the main growth driver. After domestic products improved REACH and RoHS compliance, export orders to B-end customers in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe have increased month-on-month. Upstream organic silicon DMC prices have recently stabilized and rebounded, providing cost support for polyether silicone oil. Industry insiders expect high-end customized grade prices to remain relatively strong in the second half of the year, while general grades will fluctuate steadily with supply release.
Industry insiders say that with the implementation of domestic requirements in the "General Specification for Green Evaluation of Silicone Rubber Products," downstream formulation ends, gradually phasing out high-ring residue additives, forcing production to upgrade solvent-free catalytic processes. Many companies have shifted their R&D focus to bio-based polyether silicone oil in the second half of the year, relying on plant-derived polyether chain segments to develop biodegradable additives, seizing opportunities in the global green materials sector, and further narrowing the technological gap with leading overseas brands.
