(August 31, 2026) Latest developments have emerged in the domestic organosilicon specialty materials industry. With multiple high-purity phenyl silicone oil production lines operating steadily, China's self-sufficiency rate for high-end phenyl silicone oil has further improved. Demand in downstream sectors such as semiconductors, new energy vehicles, high-end cosmetics, and aerospace continues to grow, ushering in a critical window of import substitution for the industry.

Phenyl silicone oil, with its excellent high-temperature resistance, radiation resistance, high insulation, and high refractive index, distinguishes it from ordinary dimethyl silicone oil. It is a key material in the specialty silicone field, used in power semiconductor IGBT packaging, hydrophobic coatings for automotive sensors, high-performance vacuum diffusion pump media, high-end makeup and skincare formulas, and aviation lubrication media. In the past, high phenyl content and ultra-high purity products were monopolized by overseas companies, and domestic downstream high-end projects relied heavily on imported raw materials.

According to industry research data, the overall domestic market size for phenyl silicone oil will steadily expand in 2026, with significant growth in orders for high-phenyl content electronic-grade products. Thanks to domestic catalytic synthesis and molecular distillation purification process iterations, domestic products continuously optimize metal ion and volatile impurity indicators, with multiple grades matching international first-tier products. More downstream manufacturers are switching to domestic raw materials, effectively reducing supply chain costs and supply risks.

On the demand side, the expansion of AI computing hardware and power semiconductors has driven up purchases of phenyl silicone oil for insulation and packaging; New energy vehicle autonomous driving sensors have higher demand for temperature-resistant hydrophobic coating materials; In the beauty sector, high-gloss and refreshing formulas have also driven consumption growth of cosmetic-grade phenyl silicone oil, with multiple favorable factors jointly driving the industry upward.

Industry analysts say that in the second half of the year, the industry will follow two major directions: first, continuously advancing the R&D and mass production of higher purity, customized phenyl content grades to address shortcomings in niche specialty grades; second, promoting the implementation of green manufacturing processes, reducing production energy consumption and VOC emissions, and adapting to overseas compliance standards such as EU REACH and LFGB, helping domestic phenyl silicone oil expand its share in global foreign trade exports. In the short term, upstream fluctuations in phenyl chlorosilane raw material prices will still have some impact on product costs, so companies need to strengthen raw material reserves and cost control.

Looking ahead, with continuous technological breakthroughs in the domestic industrial chain, the import substitution space for high-end phenylyl silicone oil will further open up, and domestic specialty silicone oil is expected to occupy an increasingly important position in the global organic silicon supply chain.
