Precautions for the Application of Leveling Agents
Controlling the dosage: The recommended dosage is usually 0.1% - 1% of the total system volume. Excessive dosage may lead to "fish eyes" and "reduced adhesion".
Matching the system type: For water-based coatings, acrylic-based leveling agents are preferred (to avoid hydrolysis of organosilicon). For solvent-based coatings, organosilicon or fluorocarbon-based leveling agents can be used; for UV systems, "UV-stable" leveling agents are required.
Avoiding compatibility conflicts: Some organosilicon leveling agents may conflict with defoamers and thickeners. A small-scale test should be conducted in advance for verification.
