Wacker has developed a new water-based silicone oil emulsion for the hydrophobic treatment of glass wool and rockwool, SILRES BS 5137, which has almost no change in active ingredient content compared to the previous generation, but has a much lower viscosity and is easy to process. It can be used in combination with phenolic resin binders, which are commonly used to produce insulation materials. Silicone oil emulsion has excellent hydrophobic effect and is an ideal hydrophobic agent, which can ensure that mineral insulation materials are not eroded by moisture for a long time.
