Basic Information

  • Main Components: Generally based on polydimethylsiloxane, acrylate functional groups such as methacryloyloxypropyl are introduced at the end or side of the molecular chain.
  • Appearance: Usually a colorless and transparent liquid with few impurities and low volatile substances.

Performance Characteristics

  1. Curing Characteristics: It has UV/moisture dual-curing properties, with fast reaction speed and low energy consumption. It can undergo photocuring under the action of a photoinitiator; at the same time, under the action of other groups, it can also undergo an addition reaction with hydrogen-containing silicone oil under the action of a platinum catalyst, or a moisture curing reaction with a coupling agent under the action of a phthalate catalyst.
  2. Surface Performance: It has low surface tension, can endow materials with good 爽滑性 (smoothness), anti-graffiti property and water resistance, and also reduce the internal stress of materials and products.
  3. Weather Resistance: It has excellent weather resistance and anti-yellowing performance, can maintain stable performance under different environmental conditions, and extend the service life of materials.
  4. Chemical Stability: It has stable chemical properties and good corrosion resistance, has certain tolerance to acids, alkalis, salts and other chemical substances, and can be used in various chemical environments.
  5. Leveling Property: In systems such as coatings and adhesives, it has good leveling property, which can make the coating or adhesive layer more uniform and flat, and improve the appearance quality and performance of products.
  6. Flexibility: It can improve the softness and flexibility of materials, make materials not easy to break or embrittle when subjected to external forces, and enhance the impact resistance of materials.
  7. Low Volatility: It has low volatile content, is not easy to volatilize and lose during use, reduces pollution to the environment, and is also conducive to maintaining the stable performance of materials.

Preparation Methods

  • Transesterification Method: Using hydroxyl-containing silicone oil and acrylate monomers as raw materials, acrylate-modified silicone oil is generated through transesterification under the action of a catalyst.
  • Hydrosilylation Method: Using hydrogen-containing silicone oil and acrylate monomers with carbon-carbon double bonds, under the action of a platinum catalyst, etc., a hydrosilylation reaction is carried out to introduce acrylate groups into the silicone oil molecules.
  • Free Radical Polymerization Method: Using vinyl-containing silicone oil and acrylate monomers as raw materials, acrylate-modified silicone oil is prepared through free radical polymerization under the action of an initiator.

Application Fields

  • Coating Field: Used as a leveling agent and additive, it can improve the leveling property, smoothness, weather resistance and water resistance of coatings, improve the quality and service life of coatings, and is widely used in various coating systems such as architectural coatings, automotive coatings and wood coatings.
  • Adhesive Field: Adding to adhesives can improve the flexibility, water resistance and weather resistance of adhesives; at the same time, it reduces the surface tension of adhesives, making them better wet the surface of adherends and improve bonding strength. It is suitable for various types of adhesives, such as acrylate adhesives and polyurethane adhesives.
  • Release Agent Field: Due to its low surface tension and good release performance, it can be used as a release agent in the production process of plastic films, rubber products, paper and other materials to prevent adhesion between products and molds or substrates.
  • Electronic Material Field: It is used to prepare electronic packaging materials, optical materials, etc. For example, in the packaging of electronic components such as OLED panels and chips, it can improve the aging resistance, heat resistance and optical properties of packaging adhesives.
  • Textile Field: It can be used in the post-finishing of textiles to endow textiles with softness, smoothness, water resistance, stain resistance and other properties, and improve the quality and added value of textiles.
