Performance Characteristics of Polyether-Modified Trisiloxane
Excellent Surface Activity: It has low surface tension, enabling liquids to spread and wet solid surfaces better. It can reduce the contact angle between the spray solution and leaf surfaces, increase the spray area, and improve the adhesion and penetration of products to target objects in fields such as pesticides and coatings5-6.
Good Emulsifying and Dispersing Properties: It can effectively emulsify oil and water phases, stabilize formulations, and is widely used in the preparation of cosmetics, pesticide emulsions, etc., helping to improve the uniformity and stability of products1-3.
Superior Lubricity: It provides good lubricating effects. In the textile industry, it can make fibers soft and smooth; in coatings, it can enhance surface smoothness, improve the scratch resistance and anti-adhesion of coatings5.
Outstanding Leveling Property: It has excellent leveling performance. In the coatings and inks industries, it can make the coating or ink layer more flat and uniform, reduce defects such as flow marks and orange peel, and improve surface quality5.
Defoaming and Foam Stabilization Functions: Depending on the molecular structure and composition, some polyether-modified polydimethylsiloxanes have certain defoaming effects for controlling foam generation; meanwhile, some products have foam stabilization functions, capable of producing dense and stable foam, which are applied in systems requiring stable foam, such as shower gels and shampoos in personal care products.
